Cabinets
Cabinets are used to store fire extinguishers, fire hose reels and firefighting equipment and are essential in maintaining the necessary high standard of your fire safety equipment.
Cabinets are manufactured from steel and finished in red baked enamel paint, complete with appropriate signage and either single or double doors.
Midwest Fire and Safety will assess your cabinet needs and then recommend the best solution - either a single-door surface-mounted cabinet or an externally mounted cabinet (where the hose is situated away from a wall).
DETECTION
Smoke detectors are one of the most important safety devices in your building. They detect airborne smoke, provide an early warning alarm, and enable emergency action in the event of a fire.
Smoke detectors are inexpensive, easy to install, inconspicuous, and require little maintenance.
Since 1 July 1997, the installation of smoke detectors became mandatory for all new residential buildings in WA. No building should be without them.
EXTINGUISHERS
To abide by Australian OH & S requirements, all businesses must provide a safe working environment for their employees. Therefore, fire extinguishers must be available for safe use.
Midwest Fire and Safety can provide a fire safety risk assessment for your site, and advise you on the placement and types of fire extinguishers required to meet legislative requirements, OH&S requirements and Australian standards.
Midwest Fire can also perform routine scheduled testing and servicing to ensure your extinguishers are functioning correctly and are appropriate for your fire risks.
There are different types of extinguishers, including:
Carbon Dioxide Extinguishers
Water, Foam and Wet Chemical Extinguishers
Dry Chemical Extinguisher
GASEOUS FIRE SUPPRESSION
As the only accredited supplier and installer of gaseous fire suppression systems in Geraldton, Midwest Fire and Safety can provide the following systems for the mining and marine industries:
fm200
co2
inergen
pro-inert
Hose reels
Fire Hose Reels must be easily located to provide an accessible and controlled supply of water to combat a potential fire.
The length of a fully extended fire hose is 36 metres and is designed to deliver a minimum of 0.33 litres of water per second. A control nozzle is attached to the end of the hose to enable the operator to control the direction and flow of water to the fire.
In accordance with Australian OH & S requirements, Midwest Fire can assess your needs and perform installation and maintenance requirements.
Let us assist you with all your fire safety needs.
